another go round

i used to be a camper. i would wear my camp shirt with the camp logo. swim in the pool. drink bug juice and braid laniard. camp was carefree and sweet. i grew up. responsibilities were priority. paying a mortgage, taking shirts to the dry cleaners, depositing checks. somewhere along the way, we as grown-ups forget to not take things so seriously. we forgo the splashing, the feeling of a first summer kiss and the egg on a spoon relay. we forgo and forget.

being at aTi refreshes the memory. it encourages you to recognize yourself as a creative, adult camper. for 5 days each week you play, dance, learn, laugh, recognize, realize and give your soul room to grow. all things we deserve. all things we need. but rarely do we give ourselves the space and time to do. so, the next time someone asks me what i did over summer vacation i'll tell them - i danced like a child, wrote with my heart and breathed fresh air into my soul.
